Hello October & Happy Fall

As the vibrant colors of fall sweep across our city and state, we’re reminded that this season is all about change and transformation. Just as nature prepares for the months ahead, now is the perfect time to reflect on our own growth and the habits we carry with us. Embracing new routines and letting go of what no longer serves us can be the key to unlocking our potential. Whether it’s setting fresh goals, adopting healthier habits, or pursuing a long-held dream, the season invites us to choose paths that align with the future we want to create. Let’s take this opportunity to embrace change, and step into the next chapter with intention and purpose.

Throughout the next three months, considering joining me in embracing simplicity in October, gratitude in November and relationships in December. Read more about the word of the year and each month’s dedications here.

KC & Co. IN THE COMMUNITY

This summer has been an eye-opening journey of learning about the challenges our community in Indianapolis faces, especially in the areas of health, hunger, and homelessness. I had the privilege of visiting and meeting with organizations like The Patachou Foundation, Gleaners Food Bank, Outreach Inc., and Nine13 Sports and Logistics. In addition, I connected with school health coordinators, community center leaders, and city and state health officials to gain a deeper understanding of the critical issues at hand. While incredible work is being done, there is still much more needed to ensure that everyone has access to the education, resources, and the support they deserve. The listening tour continues, so if you have a story to share or recommendations on who Kelsey should meet with next, please reach out! Together, we can build a stronger, healthier community.

EMBRACING THIS SEASON OF TRANSFORMATION

How can you make the most of all this season has to offer while still putting yourself, your health, your mindset, and your wellness first?

  • Plan your weeks and always include time to relax + reset.

  • Decide what is a “nice to have/do” and “need to have/do.”

  • Dedicate space to create and settle into your new routines.

Resting and resetting are not always the same. Do you “rest” and still feel exhausted the next day even though all you did was clean, run errands, and watch movies?

Consider if you are INTENTIONALLY resting - doing things that allow your mind to unplug from technology and release the tension in your body. Once you rest, you can properly and fully reset.

I often find myself needing a refresh as the seasons change. A change of pace, new scenery, moving my body in new ways, new people, and a new perspective. The best way I’ve found to recenter and find these new routines is to ask myself the following question: What am I getting bored with, why, and what sounds better? Common responses include feeling bored with workouts because you’ve been doing the same class for months and you want something challenging OR feeling bored with work because you go to the same office every day with the same people and you want a change in environment or more comradery.

It’s always up to you to change - no matter how small or extravagant - change is change.

~May this season be filled with transformation~
